All Levels Extension-Free Yoga Practice (51 minutes)
Having a chair, cushions, and a blanket are recommended.
This practice is spinal extension free, meaning there are no postures included that require moving into an arched back (extension). All postures in this practice are done with a neutral spine and in some cases, we may move into a rounded back (flexion). This practice is relatively gentle, with the majority of the class spent on the mat. There are some standing postures that incorporate the use of a chair.
If you are healing from a back injury, be sure to speak with myself and/or your primary health care provider prior to trying this practice, as we may have additional recommendations for you. As always, it is important to listen to your body and avoid staying in postures that cause pain.
